유튜브 크리에이터 듀드 퍼펙트, 1억 달러 이상을 투자 받다(YouTube creators Dude Perfect have received over $100 million in investment)

The post-pandemic creator economy is coming back to life. Dude Perfect, a company comprised of five YouTube creators in sports and comedy, has raised more than $100 million from private equity firm Highmount Capital. That's more than 130 billion Korean won. Dude Perfect plans to use the funding to expand its brand beyond online video.

It will also fund content development, including building a team to create new content, the company said. Dude Perfect did not disclose the exact amount of the investment, but Variety estimated it at $100-130 million. It's unusual for a private equity firm to invest in creators. The beauty of Doubled Perfect is that it's not just about YouTube creators. The company is expanding its monetization beyond YouTube content to other services.

스포츠와 코미디 관련 5명의 유튜브 크리에이터로 이뤄진 회사 듀드 퍼펙트(Dude Perfect)가 민간 투자사 하이마운트 캐피탈(Highmount Capital)로부터 1억 달러 이상을 조달 했다. 한국돈으로 1,300억 이상이다. 듀드 퍼펙트는 이 투자금을 온라인 비디오를 넘어 자신들의 브랜드를 확장하는데 투입할 계획이다.

또 새로운 콘텐츠를 만들기 위한 팀 구성 등 콘텐츠 개발에도 자금을 투입할 것이라고 밝혔다. 듀드 퍼펙트는 정확한 투자 금액을 밝히지 않았지만 버라이어티는 1억~1억 3,000만 달러로 추산했다. 사모펀드가 크리에이터에 투자하는 것은 이례적이다.
