'쇼군', 디즈니에 19년 만에 에미상 안겨(Shogun Brings Disney Its First Emmy in 19 Years)

Walt Disney reigns supreme at the 2024 Emmy Awards for the first time in more than 20 years, since 2005. The FX drama Shogun, a dramatization of the 1975 novel by James Clavell, took home the award for best drama.

This is the first time a non-English-language production (Japanese) has ever won best drama.  The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, held at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, was broadcast live on ABC. The ceremony was hosted by comedic actor Eugene Levy and his son, Dan Levy.

On Sunday evening, September 15, 2024, Shogun won Emmy Awards in four major categories, including acting, directing, and more. The show, which premieres on FX cable television and streams on Hulu, became the first program on the Disney Network to win best drama since Lost  in 2005. Notably, Shogun won 18 Primetime Emmy and Creative Arts awards, setting a record for the most awards for a single program in a single year in 2024.

월트 디즈니가 2005년 이후 20여 년 만인 2024년 에미상 시상식(Emmy Awards)에서 최고 위치에 올랐다. 1975년 제임스 클라웰(James Clavell)의 소설을 극화한 FX 드라마 ‘쇼군(Shogun)’이 최고 드라마상(best drama)을 수상한 것이다.

영어로 만들어지지 않은 작품(일본어)이 최우수 드라마 상을 받은 것은 이번이 처음이다.  LA시내 피콕 극장에서 열린  제76회 프라임타임 에미상 시상식은  ABC에서 생방송으로 방송됐다. 시상식은 코미디 배우 유진 레비(Eugene Levy)와 그의 아들 댄 레비(Dan Levy)가 진행을 맡았다.
