Paramount Television Studios, the studio that created television content for Paramount Pictures, is closing its doors. The move comes after parent company Paramount Global changed hands and announced $500 million in cost savings.

"This is a challenging and transformative time for the industry as a whole, and unfortunately, our studio is no exception," said Paramount Television President Nicole Clemens in a memo to employees on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Paramount Television launched in 2013. This is in line with the recent trend of U.S. pay-TV studios "depreciating" the value of cable TV as subscribers churn.

파라마운트 픽쳐스의 TV콘텐츠를 만들왔던 파라마운트 텔레비전 스튜디오(Paramount Television Studios)가 문을 닫는다. 모기업인 파라마운트 글로벌의 대주주가 바뀌고 5억 달러의 비용을 절감하겠다고 선언한 이후 변화다. 아울러 최근 미국 유료 방송 스튜디오들이 케이블TV 구독자들의 이탈로 케이블TV 가치를 ‘감가 상각’ 하고 있는 것과 같은 흐름이다.

니콜 클레멘스(Nicole Clemens) 파라마운트 텔레비전 대표는  2024년 8월 13일(화) 직원들에게 보낸 메모에서 "지금은 업계 전체에 도전적이고 변혁적인 시기이며, 안타깝게도 우리 스튜디오도 예외는 아니다”라고 말했다. 파라마운트 텔레비전은 지난 2013년 런칭했다.
