Here are some highlights from FASTmaster's January 2024 report. FAST, as you may know, is Free Ad Supported Streaming TV;

In November 2023, the number of FAST channels available in the U.S. was as high as 1,995, and as of December 2023, it was down to 1,964. This was due to the closure of holiday-themed strike channels around the holidays;

This is also a characteristic of FAST channels. Like YouTube, the number of channels increases rapidly at certain times, and channels that have gone out of fashion are removed. However, compared to January 2023, the number of channels (1,995) increased dramatically in December 2023.

The most popular single IP channels today were 327, and exclusive channels were 919, a record low of 47% of the total;

2023년 11월에는 미국 내 서비스되는 FAST채널이 1,995개까지 갔다가 2023년 12월 현재 1,964개로 줄었다. 연말 연시, 연휴를 테마로 한 파업 채널들이 문을 닫았기 때문이다.

이 역시 FAST채널의 특징이다. 유튜브처럼 특정 시기 채널이 급격히 늘어나기도 하고, 유행이 지난 채널은 과감히 정리되기도 한다. 그러나 2023년 1월과 비교해보면 2023년 12월에는 채널(1,995개)이 급격히 증가했다.

요즘 가장 인기가 많은 싱글 IP채널은 327개였다. 또 독점 채널은 919개로 전체의 47%로 역대 비중이 최저였다.
